اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاواتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

Allahu laaa ilaaha illaa huwal haiyul qai-yoom 
laa taakhuzuhoo sinatunw wa laa nawm; lahoo maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ard 
man zallazee yashfa’u indahooo illaa be iznih
ya’lamu maa baina aideehim wa maa khalfahum
wa laa yuheetoona beshai ‘immin ‘ilmihee illa be maa shaaaa

Ayatul Kursi Translation

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence.
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.
His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not.
And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

B. Surah Al-Ikhlas – 3 times (Tabarani)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
1. قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
2. اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ
3. لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
4. وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

Surah Al-Ikhlas Transliteration

  1. Qul huwal laahu ahad
  2. Allah hus-samad

  1. Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

اللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِيْ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِيْ، فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلَّاأَنْتَ۔

Syed ul Istighfar Transliteration

Allahumma anta rabbi la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa-ana ‘abduk, wa-ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wawa‘dika mas-tata‘t, a‘oothu bika min sharri ma sana‘t, aboo-o laka bini‘matika ‘alay, wa-aboo-o bithanbee, faghfir lee fa-innahu la yaghfiru-thunaba illa ant

Syed ul Istighfar Translation

“O Allah! You are my Rubb. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon”.

F. Recite 1 Time (Abu Dawud)

اللّٰهُمَّ اِنّىْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

Allahumma Inni A’udhu Bika Minal-Hammi Wal Hazan, Wa A’udhu Bika Minal-Ajzi Wal-Kasal, Wa A’udhu Bika Minal- Jubni Wal-Bukhl, Wa A’udhu Bika Min Ghalabatid-Dayni Wa Qahrir-Rijaal.

“O Allah, I seek refuge with You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts, and from being overpowered by men.”

G. Recite 1 Time (Abu Dawud)

اللهم إني أسألك العفو والعافية في الدنيا والآخرة، اللهم إني أسألك العفو والعافية في ديني ودنياي وأهلي ومالي، اللهم استر عوراتي وآمن روعاتي، واللهم احفظني من بين يدي ومن خلفي وعن يميني وعن شمالي ومن فوقي، وأعوذ بعظمتك أن أغتال من تحتي.

Allahumma inni as’aluka al-‘afwa wal-‘afiyata fi ad-dunya wal-akhirah, Allahumma inni as’aluka al-‘afwa wal-‘afiyata fi deeni wa dunyaaya wa ‘ahlee, wa maalee, Allahum-mastur ‘awraatee, wa ‘aamin raw’aatee, Allahum-mahfadhnee min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfee, wa ‘an yameenee, wa ‘an shimaalee, wa min fawqee, wa ‘a’oothu bi’adhamatika ‘an ‘ughtaala min tahtee.

“O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter, in my religion, my life, my family, and my possessions, to conceal my flaws and grant me security, and to protect me from all directions, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being taken by surprise from beneath me.”

H. Recite 1 Time (Tirmidhi)

اللَّهُمَّ عالِمَ الغَيْبِ وَالشَّهادَةِ فاطِرَ السَماواتِ وَالأَرْضِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيءٍ وَمالِكَهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ، أَعوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسي وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطانِ وَشِرْكِهِ، وَأَنْ أَقْتَرِفَ عَلى نَفْسي سوءًا أَوْ أَجُرِّهُ إِلَى مُسْلِمٍ.

Allahumma ‘alimal-ghaybi wash- shahadati fatiras-samawati wal- ard,Rabba kulli shai’in wa malikahu ash hadu an la ilaha illa Anta.A’udhu bika min sharri nafsi wa min sharri shaitani wa shirkihi,wa an aqtarifa ‘ala nafsi su’an aw ajurrahu ila muslim

“O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of everything and its sovereign. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self, from the evil of Satan and his associates, and from causing harm to myself or bringing it upon a Muslim.”

I. Recite 1 Time (Nasa’i)
يا حَيُّ يا قَيّوم بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيث، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأنِي كُلَّهُ وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ.

Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyoom bi Rahmatika astagheeth Aslih lee sha’nee kullahu wa laa takilni ilaa nafsi tarfata ‘aynin

“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I seek help through Your mercy. Set right all my affairs, and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye.”

J. Recite 3 Times (Ahmad)
اللهم عافني في بدني، اللهم عافني في سمعي، اللهم عافني في بصري، لا إله إلا أنت. اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الكفر والفقر، وأعوذ بك من عذاب القبر. لا إله إلا أنت.

Allahumma afini fi badani, Allahumma afini fi sam’i, Allahumma afini fi basari La ilaha illa anta. Allahumma inni a’uzubika minal kufr wal fakar. Wa a uuzu bika min azabil qabr. La ilaaha illaa Anta.

“O Allah, grant me health in my body. O Allah, grant me health in my hearing. O Allah, grant me health in my sight. There is no deity but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no deity but You.”

K. Recite 7 Times (Abu Dawud)

حسبي اللهُ لا إله إلا هو، عليه توكلت، وهو ربُّ العرش العظيم.

HasbiyAllahu laa ilaaha illa huwa, alayhi tawakkaltu, wa huwa Rabbul arshil adheem

“Allah is Sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. I have placed my trust in Him, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne”

L. Recite 3 Times (Tirmidhi)

رَضيـتُ بِاللهِ رَبَّـاً وَبِالإسْلامِ ديـناً وَبِمُحَـمَّدٍ نَبِيّـاً

Radhitu billahi rabba, wabil-islami deena, wa biMuhammadin nabiyyan

‘I am pleased with Allah as a Lord, and Islam as a religion, and Muhammad as a Prophet.’

M. Recite 3 Times (Tirmidhi)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاء وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Bismillahil ladhi la yadurru ma’asmihi shai’un fil ardi wa lafis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Sami’ul-Alim

“In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

N. Recite 100 Times (Muslim)

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

Subhanallahi Wa Bihamdihi

“Glory be to Allah, and all praise is due to Him.”

O. Recite 100 Times (Nasa’i)

سبحان الله، الحمد لله، الله أكبر

Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar

“Glory be to Allah, Praise be to Allah, Allah is the Greatest.”

لا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay in qadeer.

“There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. His is the sovereignty, and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent.”

Q. Assalatu Alan Nabi (Sending blessings upon the Prophet – Any type you know) 10 times – (Tabarani)

“O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad…”

Azkar Morning Only

The following Azkar should be read every morning (After Fajr) in addition to the one above (A – Q) :

1. Seek Allah’s Forgiveness – 100 times (Tabarani)

أستغفر الله وأتوب إليه

Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilaih

“I seek forgiveness from Allah, and I turn to Him in repentance.”

2. Recite 3 times (Muslim)

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ ، عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ

Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, `adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinatah `arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi

“Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words”

3. Recite 1 time (Abu Dawud)

اللهم ما أصبح بي من نعمة أو بأحد من خلقك، فمنك وحدك لا شريك لك، فلك الحمد ولك الشكر

Allahumma ma asbaha bee min ni’matin aw bi ahadin min khalqik, faminka wahdaka la sharika lak, falaka al-hamdu wa laka ash-shukr

“O Allah, whatever blessings I or any of Your creation have received this morning, they have come from You alone, You have no partner. To You belongs all praise and all gratitude.”

4. Recite 1 time (Nasa’i)
أَصْـبَحْنا علـى فِطْـرَةِ الإسْلام ، وَعَلـى كَلِـمَةِ الإخْـلاص ، وَعلـى دينِ نَبِـيِّنا مُحَـمَّدٍ وَعَاـى مِلَّـةِ أبينـا إِبْـراهيـمَ حَنيـفاً مُسْلِـماً وَمـا كـانَ مِنَ المُشـرِكيـن

Asbahna ‘ala fitratil-Islam, wa ‘ala kalimatil-ikhlas, wa ‘ala deeni nabiyyina Muhammadin, wa ‘ala millati abina Ibrahim, haneefan musliman, wama kana minal-mushrikeen

“We have entered the morning in the natural state of Islam, and on the word of pure faith, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (saws) and the religion of our forefather Ibraheem, who was a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate others with Allah.”

5. Recite 3 times (Nasa’i)

أصبحت أثني عليك حمدا، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله

Asbahtu uthni ‘alayka hamdan, wa ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah

“I praise You with gratitude in the morning, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.”

6. Recite 1 time (Muslim)

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ. لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ. رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَٰذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَٰذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ. رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ. رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْر

Asbaḥnā wa aṣbaḥa-l-mulku li-l-lāhi, wa-l-ḥamdu li-l-lāhi. Lā ilāha illā Llāhu, wahdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu, wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr. Rabbi, as’aluka khayra mā fī hādhā-l-yawmi wa khayra mā ba’dahu. Wa a’ūdhu bika min sharri mā fī hādhā-l-yawmi wa sharri mā ba’dahu. Rabbi a’ūdhu bika mina-l-kasali, wa sû’i-l-kibari. Rabbi a’ūdhu bika min ‘adhābin fī n-nāri wa ‘adhābin fī-l-qabr.

“We have reached the morning and at this very time all sovereignty belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah. There is none worthy of worship but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the sovereignty, and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things. My Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this day and the goodness of what follows it, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and the evil of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the torment of Hellfire and the torment of the grave.”

7. Recite 1 time (Abu Dawud)

أصبحنا وأصبح الملك لله رب العالمين. اللهم إني أسألك خير هذا اليوم: فتحه ونصره ونوره وبركته وهداه. وأعوذ بك من شر ما فيه وشر ما بعده

Asbaḥnā wa aṣbaḥa-l-mulku li-l-lāhi rabbi-l-alamîn. Allahumma innī as’aluka khayra hādhā-l-yawmi: fathahu wa naṣrahu wa nūrahu wa barakatahu wa hudāhu. Wa a’ūdhu bika min sharri mā fīhi wa sharri mā ba’dahu

“We have reached the morning, and the dominion belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of this day: its opening, its support, its light, its blessings, and its guidance. And I seek refuge in You from the evil it contains and from the evil that comes after it”

8. Recite 4 times (Abu Dawud)
اللهم إنّي أصبحت أشهدك، وأشهد حملة عرشك، وملائكتك، وجميع خلقك، أنك أنت الله لا إله إلا أنت، وحدك لا شريك لك، وأنّ محمداً عبدك ورسولك.

Allahumma innee asbahtu ushhiduk, wa-ushhidu hamalata ‘arshik, wamala-ikatak, wajamee’a khalqik, annaka antal-lahu la ilaha illa ant, wahdaka la shareeka lak, wa-anna Muhammadan AAabduka warasooluk.

“O Allah, I bear witness that I have reached the morning, and I bear witness that the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels, and all of Your creation bear witness that You are Allah, there is no god but You, You are alone, You have no partner, and Muhammad is Your servant and messenger.”

9. Recite 1 time (Tirmidhi)

اللهم بك أصبحنا وبك أمسينا وبك نحيا وبك نموت وإليك النشور

Allahumma bika asbahna wabika amsayna wabika nahya wabika namootu wa-ilaykan-nushoor

“O Allah, by Your grace, we have reached the morning, and by Your grace, we have reached the evening. By Your grace, we live, and by Your grace, we die. And to You is the final resurrection.”

Azkar Evening

The following Azkar should be read every evening only (After Asr) in addition to the one above (A – Q) :

1. Recite 1 time (Abu Dawud)

اللَّهُمَّ مَا أمسى بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ ، أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ ، فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لا شَرِيكَ لَكَ ،فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ

Allahumma ma amsa bi ni’matin, aw bi ahadin min khalkik, faminka wahdak la sharika lak, falakal hamdu walakash shukr

“O Allah, whatever blessing I or any of Your creatures enjoyed this evening, it is from You alone, and You have no partner. All praise and thanks are due to You.”

2. Recite 1 time (Nasa’i)
أمسينا على فطرة الإسلام وعلى كلمة الإخلاص وعلى دين نبينا محمد، وعلى ملة آبائنا إبراهيم حنيفًا مسلمًا وما كان من المشركين

Amsayna ‘ala fitrat-il-Islam wa ‘ala kalimat-il-ikhlaas wa ‘ala deeni nabiyyina Muhammad, wa ‘ala millati abeena Ibraheem haneefan musliman wamaa kaana minal-mushrikeen.

“We have entered the evening in the natural state of Islam, and on the word of pure faith, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (saws) and the religion of our forefather Ibraheem, who was a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate others with Allah.”

3. Recite 3 times (Nasa’i)

أمْسَيْتُ أُثْنِيَ عَلَيْكَ حَمْدًا، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ

Amsaytu uthnee ‘alayka ḥamdan, wa ash hadu allaa ilaaha illallah

“I have entered the evening praising You, and I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except for Allah”

4. Recite 1 time (Muslim)
أمسينا وأمسى الملك لله والحمد لله، لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير. ربي أسألك خير ما في هذه الليلة وخير ما بعده وأعوذ بك من شر ما في هذه الليلة وشر ما بعده، ربي أعوذ بك من الكسل وشر الكبر، ربي أعوذ بك من عذاب في النار وعذاب في القبر

Amsaynaa wa amsal-mulku lillaah walhamdu lillaahi, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in Qadeer. Rabbi ‘as’aluka khayra maa fee hathihil-layla wa khayra maa ba’dahu wa ‘a’oothu bika min sharri maa fee hathihil-layla wa sharri maa ba’dahu, Rabbi ‘a’oothu bika minal-kasali, wa soo’il-kibari, Rabbi ‘a’oothu bika min ‘athaabin fin-naari wa ‘athaabin fil-qabri

“We have entered the evening, and to Allah belongs all sovereignty, and all praise is for Allah. There is no deity except Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belongs all dominion, and to Him is all praise, and He is over all things capable.

My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good that follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil that follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.”

5. Recite 1 time (Abu Dawud)
أمسينا وأمسى الملك لله رب العالمين. اللهم إني أسألك خير هذه الليلة: فتحها ونصرها ونورها وبركتها وهداها. وأعوذ بك من شر ما فيها وشر ما بعده

Amsaynaa wa amsal-mulku lillaah rabbi-l-alamîn. Allahumma innī as’aluka khayra hathihil-layla: fathahu wa naṣrahu wa nūrahu wa barakatahu wa hudāhu. Wa a’ūdhu bika min sharri mā fīhi wa sharri mā ba’dahu

“We have entered the evening, and the dominion belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of this night: its opening, victory, light, blessings, and guidance. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of what it contains and the evil that comes after it.”

6. Recite 4 times (Abu Dawud)
اللَّهم إني أمسيت أشهدك، وأشهد حملة عرشك، وملائكتك، وجميع خلقك، أنك أنت الله لا إله إلا أنت وحدك لا شريك لك، وأنَّ محمدًا عبدك ورسولك.

Allahumma innee amsatu ushhiduk, wa-ushhidu hamalata ‘arshik, wamala-ikatak, wajamee’a khalqik, annaka antal-lahu la ilaha illa ant, wahdaka la shareeka lak, wa-anna Muhammadan AAabduka warasooluk.

“O Allah, I bear witness that I have entered the evening, and I bear witness that the bearers of Your Throne, the angels, and all of Your creation bear witness that You are Allah, there is no god but You, alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger.”

7. Recite 1 time (Tirmidhi)
اللهم بك أمسينا وبك أصبحنا وبك نحيا وبك نموت وإليك المصير

Allahumma bika amsayna wabika amsayna wabika nahya wabika namootu wa-ilaykan-nushoor

“O Allah, by Your leave, we have reached the evening, and by Your leave, we have reached the morning, and by Your leave, we live, and by Your leave, we die, and to You is our final return.”

8. Recite 3 times (Nasa’i)

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

Auzu Bikaalimaatillahit-Taammaati Min Sharri Maa ‘Khalaqa

“I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.”
